Design and Build

Bose QuietComfort 35, covered in soft material named ”Alcantara” which is especially used for luxurious vehicles, portrays a stunning and handsome look with comfort. Ear cushions of QC 35 is made up of synthetic protein leather with inner part of ear-cups covered with soft material, collectively gives an elegant outlook. Headband extension of elegant wireless headphone has individual clicks for easy and precise extension. It is also notable that, with ear-cups can be freely pivoted and bent, giving a comfortable fit, even for larger heads.

Though, it is not significantly noticeable, in comparison to its older version, more wider headband and slightly bigger ear-cups give more stability in fitting any heads of variable sizes. In the right cup consists of a bigger multi-function button which functions play/pause, skip track, answer and end calls with voice control buttons +/- on either sides. Another notable feature of this multi-function button is its ability to initiate female voice command prompt. Following these buttons, Quiet Comfort 35 has micro USB charging port and NFC ready-pairing chip.

What is NFC?

Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short range wireless technology used to function for Bluetooth pairing between two NFC-enabled devices; QC 35 with NFC enabled to another device placed near the right ear-cup, will pair Bluetooth devices and doing again the second time will un-pair but both devices should be kept in close proximity as near as 5 inches. In the left ear-cup, 2.5mm port can be seen.

Connect with Ease

As for NFC-enabled phones, turn on the three-position power slider to middle and bring your back side of mobile to the right ear-cup, and follow the prompt to accept your connection. Whereas, for non-NFC mobiles, slide the power to middle and then click power switch to Bluetooth icon and wait for the Bluetooth LED to indicate or follow voice prompt for necessary directions by following your mobile Bluetooth menu to connect; pairing instructions should be followed for non-NFC mobiles.

While connecting two devices, such as a smart-phone and a laptop, Bose QC 35 with its Multi-point Technology, can maintain two devices same time in one loop. But, when receiving a call, the audio stream will be directed to your call, and then regain position after the call. Additionally, with the Bose Connect app, you can get product news, customizations and so on.

While I am testing its connectivity range, the connection was somewhat stable until about 9 meters (somewhere around 28 feet), but my connection got some breakdowns when i tested moving to other rooms (mostly due to obstructions between devices); overall, when the device is in clear range, sound clarity is better.

Cancel the noise

It is very much a stroke of genius for the Bose for boosting the performance and entertainment thrills in Quiet comfort 35 with the Acoustic Noise Cancelling Technology, which really does an astounding job; one of best feature to be seen. QC 35 with its folded headband, which fits to the ears in slight folded way is also made noise cancel technology more effective giving acoustic nature of sound; basically, it cancels the outside noise by opposite signals.

Sounds

While testing the sound quality, it is noticeable that, bass quality adjust to the amount of volume, maybe due to added feature of volume-optimized EQ. Especially, bass quality gets bit like kind of diffused, in other words low on clarity and treble is bit ok (maybe due to obstructed Bluetooth connection, which can have an impact on vocal observation). But while this handsome wireless headphone is wired, sound clarity get improved and bass and treble bit optimized. Overall, sound quality is good. During flight journey, this mighty Bluetooth wireless headphone is usable with the use of airplane adaptor, which is used for receiving audios; just plug in and enjoy your journey.

Battery

Bose QuietComfort 35 use a lithium-ion rechargeable battery which its charge can stay as long as 20 hours wirelessly and almost 40 wired. This elegant headphone is charged using USB cable and takes about 2.25 hours for full charge. Incase if battery died, can still listen through this, but noise cancellation ability and Active EQ stay disabled.

  • Fold up Design
  • Adjustable Headband
